String students shine at music festival

Students from Maize Middle School recently earned strong ratings while participating in a music festival in solos and small ensemble performances.

Two duets received Division I ratings, the highest possible score. Two soloists also earned Division I ratings, while three solo performers received Division II ratings.

The results reflect students’ dedication and preparation, as well as the strength of our music programs. We offer a wide range of music opportunities, including orchestra, band, choir, and solo and ensemble events, along with large group performances and continued instruction at the high school level.

Through these programs, students develop musical skills, discipline, teamwork and confidence. Music educators work closely with students to provide meaningful learning experiences and performance opportunities.

Administrators and staff praised the students for their hard work and commitment.

“We are proud of their accomplishments and the way they represented our school,” orchestra teacher Marcia Hatfield said.

Congratulations to all participating string students on a successful performance.
