Future Maker Lab sparks hands-on career exploration

Future Maker Lab sparks hands-on career exploration

On Friday, March 25th, the Future Maker Mobile Lab visited our Engineering classes, providing students with a unique and engaging hands-on experience. The Future Maker Mobile Lab, a partnership between WSU Tech and Goodwill Industries, is designed to introduce students to Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and highlight occupations that are currently in high demand both in Kansas and across the country.

During their visit, students had the opportunity to explore several career pathways through interactive virtual environments. They flew drones, practiced welding techniques, and even virtually painted a car. These activities allowed students to experience firsthand the skills and technologies used in various technical fields, helping them better understand future career opportunities and inspiring them to consider careers in high-demand industries.

We are grateful for the Future Maker Mobile Lab’s visit and excited to continue offering experiences that connect our students with real-world skills and possibilities for their futures.
